Canon adds wi-fi to R600 camcorder
Canon rewraps the R500 with wi-fi
By Hillary Grigonis, Last updated on: 5/12/2016

Hey! You should know that Canon has released a newer version of this product: the Canon VIXIA HF R700.

If you feel like you're seeing double, you don't need to get your vision checked just yet. The Canon R600 is the same thing as the R500. The only change is that Canon added wi-fi to their 2015 models. While we're disapointed that Canon hasn't devoted any time to upgrading their consumer camcorders (instead appearing to focus on updating video on their DSLRs), the R600 is still a viable model compared to what else is on the market. The Sony CX440 offers a much better 50 MBPS bit rate as well as built-in memory, but the R600 still has the better zoom.

Just like the R500, the Canon R600 includes a 57x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. Compare carefully with the Sony CX440, but if you only have $300 to spend, it's certainly a model to consider.
