Canon Vixia HF200
Editor's Review
Since its release in January, the HF200 has proven to be one of Canon's most popular camcorders and with good reason. The 1080p HD video quality is superb, as are still photos. Though the still-photo quality is relatively low, the advanced features like 15x optical zoom, SuperRange image stabilization, and flash memory make this ultra-lightweight camcorder a fantastic value.

Canon Vixia HF200 Comments & Questions (write your own!)
Can I still use my powerbook G4-2gigs memory, imovie 06 for my new canon vixia 200 high def camera? If this doesn't work, what can I do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Brian
*A Class 4 or higher SDHC memory card is required. For other recording formats, a Class 2 or higher card is recommended. Also, movie recording requires cards with 128MB of memory or more. Cards made by Toshiba, SanDisk or Matsushita are recommended. No particular restrictions apply for still images.

Using Adobe Premiere Elements, for example allows you to import the footage, edit it, and burn it directly to DVD. But if you don't have a Blu-ray burner, you're looking at doing what you've been doing ... only adding converting from HD to SD before MPEG2.
BTW did you know that the same model is sold in New Zealand as the Legria HF200 ( canon.co.nz/products/visual... )?

I love the features great zoom, picture quality and many other features. It is easy to use and compact. On the surface the camera is easy to use but the finer points take a while to grasp. I am still learning but the one thing that I found really hard to understand is how to share your video via internet. It won't transfer to wmp very well. The people that I have sent video to can't play it. Overall it is a great camera that has a learning curve.
