Dubbed the first video camera to use microdrive technology, the JVC GZ-MC500 records up to 60 minutes of DVD-quality MPEG-2 movies or over 5,000 high quality still images to its 4GB flash drive. It records through three 1/4.5-inch 1.33 Megapixel CCDs for extreme sharp and vibrant color images, and transfer to PC is as easy as any flash card as the ejectible Microdrive card can be connected through an optional card adapter. Sadly, what it gains in it’s processor, it looses in a small 10x optical zoom. And in tune with JVCs multiformat capability, the MC500 can record in either AVI or MPEG2 with AC 3 audio.
