You're not seeing things: this is an expensive camcorder! The GZ-HM1 from JVC is one of the most advanced HD cams available at the moment, and it's also the top dog in the line of GZ models recently released by JVC. Take all the features of the other GZ models and load them into one, throw in a super-advanced image sensor capable of 10-megapixel stills at 6400 ISO, a quality shake compensation system, and a user-friendly "shooting oriented" design with a see-saw zoom lever and accessory shoe. Oh, and the whole thing weighs about three pounds. We'll be pretty interested to see how this one performs. It sounds like a great upgrade on last year's GZ-HM400; if so, it might be a fantastic little camera for those with a chunk of change to spend.
