The Kodak Playsport Zx5 is the world's first truly rugged pocket camcorder. It's the successor to the mega-successful Playsport Zx3 pocket camcorder, which shot stabilized 1080p video and was waterproof up to 10 feet. The Zx5 keeps those specs, but now it's shockproof from 5 feet, dustproof, and has faster autofocus. Kodak otherwise left the insides alone, which is a wise move. We're totally fine with the fact that Kodak really hasn't changed the way that their pocket camcorders shoot video since mid-2009 -- they found some kind of sweet spot, and we don't blame them for sticking to it.

Kodak PlaySport Zx5
Sadly, no. The Zx5's battery is internal and non-user removable. As for battery life, that greatly depends on how you use it. But it should record for at least an hour or two nonstop, and that's a fairly rare use.
