Featuring a 3CCD imaging system, a 10x zoom Leica Dicomar lens, and Panasonic's Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.), the HDC-SX5 would be a great camcorder even without its full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) recording capability. This is a camera that can produce near-professional level results at a relatively low price. Video can be recorded directly to SD/SDHC cards and then either transferred to a PC, played on a TV or HDTV (via HDMI), or burned to Mini-DVD directly in the camcorder. The SX5 also features a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD screen with a 170-degree viewing angle, making it easy to shoot in most conditions. In all, this is a very good camera for the amateur videographer on the go.
