Editor's Review
The Panasonic TM900 is about as serious as a consumer camcorder gets. It's part of Panasonic's top-end 3MOS line, which uses three CMOS sensors for filming; one sensor is dedicated to each primary color, so the color reproduction is incredibly true-to-life. As you'd expect from such an expensive camcorder, it shoots in 1080p at 24 or 60 frames per second, with strong image stabilization and through a bright f1.8, 20x intelligent zoom lens. It records in Dolby 5.1, and has an accessory port as well. And if you believe Panasonic, 3D is the next big thing, so the HS900 also accepts Panny's 3D-converter lens (sold separately). If you're a serious hobbyist, this is the kind of camcorder you want to be looking at. The TM900 comes with 32GB of built-in flash memory, and accepts SD/SDHC/SDXC cards for additional storage. Also check out the HS900, which swaps the flash memory for a 220GB hard disk, or the SD800, which forgoes any built-in memory, records only stereo audio, and has no accessory port, but is otherwise the same.
