The SDX1 is another traditional-looking HD camcorder from Panasonic, in the vein of the successful SD60. What sets this apart is its light weight, which Panasonic claims to be the lightest of any full AVCHD camcorder available, and its ability to shoot in lower-res 720p MP4 and 540p iFrame formats, for quicker editing and sharing. It also sports a "hybrid" optical image stabilization system, on four axes for great motion compensation. All in all, it looks like a versatile camcorder with enough power to impress most consumers without confusing them. This camcorder was announced in July 2010, but as of October 2010, still has not surfaced in retail outlets.
