Hey! You should know that Pure Digital has released a newer version of this product: the Flip MinoHD 8GB (2010).
Pure Digital Flip Video MinoHD
Editor's Review
This model of the MinoHD has since been replaced. Check out the /camcorders/products/flip-minohd-8gb-2010. Here's what we had to say about the previous MinoHD in November 2008:
Pure Digital upgrades their popular Flip Video Mino series with high-definition recording. The MinoHD can hold up 60 minutes of high-definition quality video (1280 x 720 resolution, 30fps) on 4GB of internal flash memory. It's still small, lightweight, and relentlessly simple to use.

But if you're talking about a very portable hard drive that you connect via USB cable, I dont' think so as the onboard camera software has to be loaded into RAM to run.
Best bet would be to go to theflip.com though and talk to the support to make sure it's compatible with the one you're talking about
In addition, any front USB ports away from the main USB ports in the back do not carry enough electrical power to charge the camera. You must plug the USB into your rear ports.
